I’d like to welcome Tracy Kakyo who has joined the Safeguarding Project as a research assistant. Tracy’s roles will include literature reviews, data collection, data analysis and writing up reports and findings.
Tracy is currently studying a PhD at Flinders University looking at challenges and opportunities for mentoring early career nurses in hospital settings in Uganda. She has been a nurse for 10 years working in acute care settings. Tracy has also worked as an assistant lecturer to educate undergraduate nursing students in classrooms and clinical rotations. Tracy’s research interests include professional development, quality of care and patient-centred care.
Tracy is interested in working on the Safeguarding Project because the future of children is dependent upon the environment in which they grow up. She believes that studying how nurses contribute to safe environments for children is a good place to start. Tracy joins the team of researchers to further develop her research skills and contribute to better outcomes for children.
You can connect with Tracy on Twitter @kaflowerTracy1, ResearchGate and LinkedIn.
I'm looking forward to working with Tracy as the Safeguarding Project progresses.
